discodead.com is about nothing else but me; Kenny Liu. And what I think about and what I am absorbed by:
I’ll be honest with you, I’m pretty impressed that you’re reading this right now. I exert the bare minimum effort to keep this web log going. I don’t really tell anybody about it except my friends. Originally, it was supposed to be a blog about music. Well, really, it was a blog based off a cool sounding phrase I heard one night while watching the telly. “Nigga, I will shoot you disco dead!!!” -Bernie Mac in Soul Brothers. The way he said it, I thought it was the coolest, funniest expression ever so I went and looked to see if the URL had been taken. And it WASN’T!!! So I bought it up.
And now, I’m left with this webspace to do whatever the hell I want, and now you’re here to see what’s to be gathered. And so…? Well, I can say, I put a playlist of songs for the curious each week on wednesday. Those are mostly an autobiographical snapshots of my week (because, you see, I end up listening to a lot of music while I work. And why not share it?)
I also spend a lot of time on the internet-mostly for work stuff- but in the process come across some really weirdo shit. (The internet is peopled by a wider variety than we care to realize.) And so I’ll post that stuff up here also.
Between the music and the obscure, by the wayside points of interest, I come across, about a hundred and a half different ideas and moments while walking down the street. the really grand ones, I put down on paper or computer…
So then:
This website is some sort of effort to document those experiences for record. Hopefully, you’ll gain something from your visiting. But really, honestly, it’s a vehicle for me not to forget all those little moments I cherished at the time of happening. You know, you’ve had them too. “He said that”, “She looked at me that way”. Those are very easy to forget….
